About this program
8-week progressive program designed to take an average civilian and prepare them to crush U.S. military basic training (Army AFT focus with carry-over to Marine, Navy, Air Force standards). Gym-access version. Emphasizes running durability, hand-release push-up endurance, plank, pulling strength, deadlift strength, and loaded carries while prioritizing injury prevention. **** NOT A SPECIAL FORCES OR RANGER PREP **** Designed to be repeatable. Science-based progressive overload with built-in recovery.
Suggested fitness level
beginner
True beginner to intermediate. Start every session with 5–10 min easy cardio + dynamic warm-up. Progress running volume no more than ~10% per week. Keep easy runs truly easy (conversational). Strength work is moderate intensity - leave 1–3 reps in reserve on most sets. If lower-leg pain appears, substitute bike/rower for impact and reduce volume. Sleep, protein, and gradual progression are non-negotiable. This program is repeatable; after 8 weeks reassess and either restart with higher loads/distances or move to a maintenance phase.
